Please don't bring your child to the daycare if he/she has
any of the following problems:
- Fever during the previous 12 hour period (your child must be
fever-free without the aid of fever reducing medications before
returning)
- Heavy, nasal discharge or a croup-like cough
- Diarrhea more than 3 times in the previous 24 hours
- Sore that is draining and appears to be infected
- Undiagnosed rash (Doctor note
stating rash isn't contagious required)
- Has a pink, runny eye
- Has lice
Your
child will need to be picked up as soon as possible if he/she develops any
of the following symptoms while at daycare:
- A fever of 100.5 or higher
- Vomits more than twice
- Has excessive diarrhea
- Has lice
- Has a rash that resembles childhood diseases such as measles or
chickenpox
Someone will notify you if your child shows any signs of illness.
We understand that some children are more sensitive to allergies and
teething. Symptoms that are due to this will be excused with
confirmation from your doctor that these are related to a non-contagious
problem.

At no time will corporal punishment or any other form of physical
punishment be used. We believe that children will live what they are
taught; therefore, we strive to teach proper behavior in the following
ways:
- Speaking to each child in a way that demonstrates respect
- Demonstrating the self-control and behavior in our staff that we want from the children
- Providing clear and age-appropriate forms of instruction
- Providing reasonable and consistent consequences for behavior
- Setting limits and offering alternatives to the improper behavior
We will use praise and positive reinforcement to encourage proper
behavior in your child. No child will ever be made fun of or
disciplined for potty-training accidents.
The following steps will be taken to correct a behavior problem:
- Redirection and instruction
- Reminder of the consequences for the behavior
- Time-out (this will be a short period such as 2 or 3 minutes of
quiet time in another part of the room -away from the situation)
